7 New Wonders of the World
Newsweek International
Updated: 3:20 a.m. ET April 2, 2006

April 10-17, 2006 issue –

Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge
Built last year, the world's longest suspension bridge—3,991 meters—connects Kobe, Japan, with Awaji Island.
*i will be there 1 day*

Lakewood Church
A Gothic cathedral could get lost in Houston's vast complex, a former NBA arena where sermons are projected on TV screens.

International Space Station
Only the extraordinarily healthy and wealthy will ever see this marvel of technology and international cooperation, 360km above the Earth.
*i personally would very much like to visit this place... heehee*

Sydney Opera House
After 33 years, the billowing shapes of this Australian landmark still attract millions more visitors than its musical offerings do.

Taipai 101
In Taiwan, the world's fastest elevator will whisk you 438 meters to the top floor of what is—for now—the world's tallest building.
*must go lor*

Romania's Palace of the Parliament
A 20th-century dictator's fantasy come to life, the world's third-largest building's vulgar opulence has earned it a spot of honor in the 21st century.

South China Shopping Mall
When complete, it will contain 60 hectares of rides, windmills, hotels, pyramids, an artificial river and a 30-meter-tall Arc de Triomphe. Plus shopping.
